The nutrition world for weight loss is getting more and more complicated, often making it difficult to have clarity on what to really do.

3 Keys To Avoid The Travel Blowout

We all love travelling…. the new location, experiences, friends made, all that good stuff.

But when it comes to the average persons body, what happens upon return from that trip?

You guessed it, a blowout.

The takeaway food, alcohol and lack of routine takes its toll on our body.

We often return to find the pants a little snugger and the scales on the naughty list.

The hard work we had been putting in while home has gone to waste.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

I recently spent over a week in America with a bunch of other PT’s and health coaches. It was an awesome way to see hands on how they kept their bodies on point while on the road.

With the strategies I go over in the video below, myself and the rest of them came back to almost no damage from our time in the portion heavy USA.

It came down to 3 key principles for me that made all the difference.

Apply them and you can travel anywhere you’d like and make sure that the only extra baggage you bring home was from the shopping!

Cutting Out Food Groups For Weight Loss?

There aren’t many industries more over run with options than the fitness one.

I mean, there are literally 1000’s of diets out there, all with their own rules.

But one of the most common themes amongst those diets is how they typically get you to cut out certain food groups.

They are generally more exclusive focused (what you can’t eat) than inclusive (what you can eat).

Often they eliminate entire food groups, such as dairy, wheat, or even fruits!

So what I wanted to help you with is understanding this idea of removing food groups, and whether it’s really a good idea or not.

Because you may find it just a tad confusing with all these mixed signals.

One person says never eat grains or your body will implode on itself with fat and inflammation.

Then someone else says it’s totally fine.

The same with something like fruit.

One minute fruits good for you, then someone says a banana is too high in carbs so don’t go near it.

It leaves the average person fairly lost, searching for the right answer.

So you need some clarity and confidence to make the right decisions for you and your body!

Can You Eat Sugar And Still Burn Fat?

There might not be a hotter topic in health and nutrition than good old sugar.

There also might not be a substance more craved than sugar too!

My goal in the next minute or two is to help you really understand the true impact of sugar in your diet.

More specifically, is sugar actually something that prevents weight loss, instantly causes love handles and muffin tops?

I really wanted to help you with this topic because so many of my female clients seem to find this area tough.

They have managed to cut sugar completely for a short period of time, lost a bit of weight, but found it unsustainable.

It can easily lead you into thinking that it’s either skinny jeans or sugar, but not both.

However, it’s interesting to see what actual scientific research has to say about this topic.

Because (good) scientists know when they want to test something, they only change one variable (more or less sugar, perhaps).

Where as typically when the average woman changes their diet and lifestyle, there are multiple variables being changed.

They cut out sugar, and in the process they might: eat less calories, eat more protein, eat more vegetables, drink more water, exercise more, drink less caffeine etc.

So when they see weight loss or certain changes from just eliminating sugar, almost every time, they didn’t just eliminate sugar.

So what happens when it’s only a change in sugar in a diet? Does it really make much difference in weight loss?

Well, researchers actually tested this exact thing recently.

The results were fascinating to say the least!

How To Get Back Into Exercise After A Break

Sometimes life gets in the way and our fitness takes a back seat.

A day off becomes a week off, which can become months off.

Which puts us in this vicious cycle.

We DO want to get back into it, but we know we aren’t where we used to be.

The tiring journey up the flight of stairs at work reminds us our fitness as gone downhill.

Our old gym clothes are a little more snug than they used to be.

And the thought of getting up earlier or making time in the evening sinks us further into the couch.

These factors stop us from taking that first step, which then just exacerbates them further!

But, when you DO take that first step, everything changes!
